Happy Nu Year

A lot has been made of the Chanuka v.s. Christmas divide, but even after December 25, there’s another, albeit smaller, December battle between Jewish and Gentile. That’s the January 1st celebration of the New Year. With its noisemakers, confetti and ball dropping from Times Square, January 1st is about the secular New Year, based loosely on the birth of Jesus, and far overshadowing the Jewish New Year celebrated in the fall.
For those members of the tribe who would like to add a Jewish twist to January 1, I am offering “Nu Year’s” glasses featuring the Jewish year 5776 at www.jewcer.com/nuyear. A pair featuring the Jewish year 5776 as well as a pair featuring both 5776 and the secular new year 2016 (the “2-lense solution”) are being offered.
Additionally, “Nu years” ecards with attitude can be found at my facebook page “A Seriously Funny Woman.”
